About Us
John Howard Roofing and Sheet Metal is the byproduct of a longstanding working relationship between Tinwell Sheet Metal and Southwest Roofing Company. Ed Johnson started Southwest Roofing in 1979, and John Howard Sr. started Tinwell Sheet Metal in 2003. Since 2003, the two companies worked alongside each other building a reputation of the highest quality work, attention to detail, professionalism, and customer service for exclusive high-end clientele in Fort Worth and surrounding areas. In December 2024 Ed Johnson went to be with The Lord. To continue providing elite craftmanship, John Howard Sr. and John Howard Jr. purchased all assets of Southwest Roofing, combined the two companies, and formed John Howard Roofing and Sheet Metal in February 2025. We are dedicated to serving our clients by fulfilling your wide array of needs. From new roof installation with custom architectural sheet metal, to simple repairs and maintenance. Clay Tile

Clay tile comes in a wide variety of forms and colors such as Barrell, Interlocking, S-Tile, Old Americana and more. If you are not sure which style you want to use, we have the resources to make sure you find the perfect tile for your project. Pictured to the left is an Italian Barrell Tile.
Slate Tile

Natural slate is a gorgeous stone mined and formed into tile pieces. You can choose between single width or random width pieces. Synthetic slate tile is a more economically friendly option and still makes for a beautiful long-lasting roof. Pictured to the left is natural slate.
Standing Seam Sheet Metal

Standing seam metal roofs give a sleek, tight, and symmetrical finished look to every home. These roofs last a lifetime and are a more lightweight option than tile roofs. We offer double lock standing seam and snap lock standing seam options in paint grip, copper, or pre-finished metal. Pictured to the left is a paint grip double lock standing seam roof.
TPO & EPDM Systems

TPO & EPDM roofs are both a very durable reinforced rubber, meant for flat or low slope roofs. TPO is white, EPDM is black, and both have minor differences when it comes to application. Both systems use a low slope mold resistant tapered insulation, topped with a 1/2" cover board that gives improved hail and fire resistance. These are mechanically fastened to the roof decking using specialty screws and plates then the TPO or EPDM is fully adhered. Pictured to the top left is TPO and bottom left is EPDM
